| LAS VEGAS (April 4, 2001) – Readers of Casino Executive have come to trust the magazine to give them an insider’s viewpoint of industry events. Readers can now expect even more. Starting in June, Casino Executive will become Casino Executive Reports, a quarterly publication that will be even more research-driven that its predecessor. According to Jamie McKee, Editor of Casino Journal and Casino Executive Reports, the newly designed Reports will be formatted to accommodate more in-depth, feature-length articles. “We wanted to create a dynamic research magazine with information that will be useful today, and formatted in such as way that the publication will become a research tool that our readers will save and can refer back to at will.” The first edition covers casino productivity and technology. “Our first issue will help to define what the new Casino Executive Reports will be. Our columnists and feature writers will focus on technology in every area of the casino and will present thoroughly researched pieces,” McKee said. Future issues will contain surveys and other research data, in addition to the feature articles and research stories. “The biggest difference our readers will see in the new magazine is that it is much more in-depth with a more technical slant to the articles than space allowed for in the previous publication,” McKee said. “Changing the production schedule from monthly to quarterly will also allow our writers to completely research their topic and present the most comprehensive information possible.” The new publication will benefit from the extensive circulation of Casino Executive, Casino Journal and IGWB, and each issue will be distributed at major industry trade shows, including Casino Ops at UNLV this June. Because of the value of the publication’s research-oriented articles, pass-along circulation will be more extensive than with most trade magazines. GEM Communications, the leading publisher of casino industry magazines, will produce the new Reports. GEM Communications publishes 11 trade magazines and newsletters serving the Gaming industry around the world including IGWB, Casino Journal, Slot Manager, Indian Gaming Business, Lottery Business, Casino Executive Reports, Gaming for Africa, InterGame, InterGaming, InterPark and National Gaming Summary. GEM organizes several trade shows, including the World Gaming Congress and Expo (WGCE), the largest and most successful international trade show for the Gaming industry. This past year, worldwide attendance at WGCE topped 28,000.
