| LAS VEGAS (September 20, 2000) – Influential gaming magazine Casino Executive has named accomplished publisher Jan Johnson as its new general manager. Johnson brings 25 years of publishing experience to the magazine. Prior to moving to Casino Executive, Johnson was a publishing consultant to the hospitality industry, and served as the Las Vegas Executive Director of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International. Earlier, Johnson oversaw the launch of WHERE Las Vegas magazine, where she was also publisher. Her publishing career with the Toronto-based WHERE Corporation extends back to 1989 when she was publisher of Big Apple Guides in New York City. She was also the founder and president of JWJ Enterprises, which, as the largest nationally recognized publisher for convention and visitor bureaus, reported revenues over $10 million. A California native, Johnson has been in Las Vegas for two years. “Las Vegas is a great place to raise a family,” Johnson said. “My husband and I had the choice to relocate to a lot of different cities, but I wanted to get my two young children west. We decided to settle permanently in Las Vegas, and it was absolutely the right decision for our family.” Casino Executive is a monthly hands-on, in-depth look at the North American gaming industry.
