| LAS VEGAS (September 12, 2000) – Influential gaming magazine Casino Executive has named Doug Puppel as its new editor. Puppel joins Casino Executive after 12 years with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, including the last four as editor of the newspaper’s award-winning business section. As editor, Puppel directed the Review-Journal’s gaming coverage and helped launch lasvegas.com Gaming Wire, an information and wire service for gaming news. The newspaper won best in state for its business coverage three times during his tenure. “I am excited about by move to Casino Executive,” Puppel said. “We have developed a new vision for the magazine….” Puppel came to Nevada in 1988 after working for newspapers in suburban Cleveland, near where he grew up. Puppel graduated from the prestigious Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., with a degree in magazine journalism. Casino Executive is a monthly hands-on, in-depth look at the North American gaming industry. The magazine takes an internal, personal look at individual executives, specific companies and management issues, giving readers the inside of gaming with lively, comprehensive and credible information in a balanced, authoritative format.
